Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have named former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody as their Global Director of Cricket. The news was released on Thursday, 6 November, 2025. As per LSG’s official announcement, Moody will oversee cricket operations, including strategy and player acquisition, for the franchise’s Australian owners, RPSG Group.
That’s huge, since it means Moody’s influence will extend far beyond IPL – he’ll also have a significant hand in setting the cricket direction of Durban Super Giants in the SA20 league and that of Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
He will work with another Australian – Head Coach Justin Langer and Strategic Advisor Kane Williamson at LSG. This triumvirate of talent provides the Aces with a trio of experienced leaders, so a great tone has already been set for the franchise.
Moody, who has had prior stints with Sunrisers Hyderabad – he helped them win an IPL title – as well as Punjab Kings, will bring his extensive experience of franchise cricket and managing players to LSG.
In his statement, Moody expressed his excitement about the role, saying,
“It’s an honour to take on the role of Global Director of Cricket for the RPSG Group. After positive talks with Mr. Goenka, I realized this was a wonderful opportunity. I’m excited about playing a key role in contributing to build an integrated cricketing philosophy across the franchises, inspire excellence in performance and drive talent development towards fulfilling our on field aspirations in years to come.”
Moody coming on board LSG, seems like the team is working towards a long-term vision for cricket for global relevance and winning vibes across leagues.
