- 1951-1952 New Zealand vs West Indies: The West Indies and New Zealand met for the first time to play their first Test match on 8 February 1952 at AMI Stadium, Christchurch. New Zealand opted to bat first and scored 236 in the 1st innings and 189 in the second. But the West Indies easily chased down the target by scoring 287 in the 1st innings and won the 2nd innings match by 5 wickets.
